Product Description | Xanthan Gum XCD is a premium quality biopolymer powder designed to provide maximum solids suspension and hole cleaning in vertical and highly deviated wells as well as horizontal directional drilling applications. XCD is a distinctive product and able to produce a thixotropic shear thinning fluid. XCD also acts as a very effective mud filtrate viscosifier. XCD is a high quality product which meets the API 13A Section 19 Specification. | ||||||

RecommendedTreatment | Add XCD in concentrations of 0.4-1.1 lb/bbl (1-3 kg/m³) to drilling fluid. Mix slowly through a jet mixer or sift slowly into the vortex of a high-speed stirrer. | ||||||
