Methanation Catalyst J-102Q Methanation Catalyst J102Q
In hydrogen and ammonia production units, methanation catalyst is used to promote the reaction of low concentration carbon oxides (such as CO, CO2) with excess hydrogen to generate inert gas CH4 and easily removed H2O, so as to purify the gas and protect the downstream catalyst. The catalyst proposed is in the state of reduction.
Reaction Formula as below:
CO+3H2 =CH4 +H2O ΔH0,298 = - 206.2 KJ/mol
CO2 +4H2 = CH4+2H2O ΔH0,298 = -165.0KJ/mol
Methanation is a convenient and economical method of gas purification, which can reduce the carbon oxide to a low residual content of 10-6 (V/V) level. The outlet CO + CO2 of a properly designed and properly operated methanation reactor is usually easily reduced to less than 10×10-6 (V/V).
Methanation Catalyst J102Q has excellent physical strength, low temperature activity and thermal stability. This catalyst in both pre-reduced and oxidation state can be provided.
It is a nickel methanation catalyst, which is designed for CO methanation at mild temperature by selective hydrogenation from, N2, H2, ethylene or other process gas streams.
