Titanium oxide (TiO2)catalyst Titanium Oxide (TiO2) Claus Catalyst
Compared to conventional alumina catalyst currently used in Claus reactors, CT-85 titanium oxide catalyst has better characteristics as following:
l Higher catalytic activity for sulphide hydrolysis, almost reach thermodynamic equilibrium.
l Insensitive to oxygen. High resistance to oxygen concentration is up to 2000ppm in hydrolysis reaction and robust resistance to oxygen concentration is up to 10000ppm in Claus reaction. What’s more, once escaping the influence of high concentration oxygen, the catalytic activity is almost completely recovered.
l A shorter contact time of about 3 seconds is allowed to reach same conversion level, equivalent to 1000h-1~1200h-1 airspeed, thus enable to reduce the reactor size.
This Titanium Oxide catalyst can be used in the whole bed of any reactor in the sulphur recovery unit or in layered loading with other catalysts of different functions or types. In the use of layered loading, the catalyst can be loaded at the bottom with higher temperature in the first reactor, about 1/3 ~ 1/2 of the total volume of the bed, in order to facilitate the hydrolysis of organic sulfide reaction.
